President’s Statement

President Bayelsa State Union

I feel immensely proud and honoured to be elected the President of this great union. I will use my tenure to foster progress in the Union and in Bayelsa State.

Bayelsa is a great state; therefore, representing it in any shape or form is a privilege for anyone. I will not abuse this privilege, but will help the union to successfully face the challenges of the 21^st century.

I will do my utmost to promote:-

the image of the union, Bayelsa State and its people both at home and abroad;
progress and sustainable development;
transparency and accountability;
justice and fair-play; and
stability in the Niger Delta

I will seek to work with any appropriate person(s) and/or organisation(s) in order to achieve the aims and objectives of Bayelsa State Union.

I will be faithful and loyal to the Union and uphold the Constitution of the Union, and promise to respect and treat every single member of the Union as an equal. I intend to work towards making Bayelsa State Union one of the most dynamic and progressive associations anywhere.

This is a new beginning for the Union and I invite every member and well-meaning non-members from any country, race or tribe to join me in working towards achieving the objectives of Bayelsa State Union.
